Andhra Pradesh is gearing up to redefine the future of clean transportation in India. At the prestigious Andhra Pradesh Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam, the Government of Andhra Pradesh signed a groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a powerful consortium comprising ThunderPlus, ETO Motors, and Roqit. Facilitated by the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB), this collaboration marks the beginning of a ₹515-crore statewide program that will revolutionize electric mobility, charging infrastructure, and digital transportation systems.

Endorsed by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri Nara Chandrababu Naidu garu, the program aims to establish India’s first truly integrated, multi-modal EV mobility ecosystem, positioning Andhra Pradesh as a national—and global—benchmark for sustainable transport.

A Vision That Transforms the State

Under this MoU, the consortium will develop an end-to-end electric mobility ecosystem that unifies:

  • EV manufacturing and deployment
  • City and intercity electric mobility operations
  • Statewide charging infrastructure
  • Unified digital ticketing through a single app

This holistic blueprint ensures that Andhra Pradesh becomes India’s model state for future-ready, efficient, accessible, and environmentally responsible transportation.

₹515 Crore Investment + 5,000 Jobs = Massive State Impact

The program will generate 5,000+ jobs, including:

  • 1,450 direct positions
  • 3,100+ indirect opportunities

A significant portion of these roles will be reserved for women, reinforcing the state’s commitment to women-led economic empowerment across operations, station management, software, customer care, and fleet mobility.

ThunderPlus Leads the State’s Charging Backbone

As the lead company in the consortium, ThunderPlus will deploy Andhra Pradesh’s foundational EV charging infrastructure, including:

Urban Charging Network

  • Fast-charging hubs supporting city EV fleets
  • Charging depots for buses and public transit
  • Park-and-charge solutions across metro, commercial, and residential zones

Highway Electrification

  • 120 kW chargers every 25 km
  • Ultra-fast 1 MW chargers every 100 km
  • Strategic coverage for electric buses, trucks, and long-haul logistics

ThunderPlus is already ahead with significant infrastructure:

  • 3 MW ultra-fast charging hub in Vijayawada
  • 0.5 MW charging hubs in Nellajarla and Visakhapatnam
  • Ambitious electrification plans for the Vizag–Chennai Industrial Corridor

Implementation Starts with Two Key Clusters

The first operational corridors will be established in:

1. Amaravati Capital Region

Gannavaram Airport • Vijayawada • Amaravati • Guntur

2. Visakhapatnam Urban Region

NAD Junction • Pendurty • Simhachalam • Dwarakanagar

These clusters will serve as the initial backbone of Andhra Pradesh’s integrated EV shuttle network, enabling clean, reliable, and intelligent mobility for lakhs of citizens.

Voices from the Leadership

Rajeev YSR, CEO of ThunderPlus Solutions, emphasized:

“This partnership is a decisive step toward making Andhra Pradesh India’s clean mobility capital. With integrated shuttles, unified ticketing, and ultra-fast charging, we are building a model that states across the country will replicate.”

Nirmal Reddy, CEO of ETO Motors, added:

“Urban mobility must be reliable, sustainable, and world-class. Together, we are creating a unified system that enhances everyday commuting for lakhs of citizens.”

Roqit leadership also highlighted the significance of a single-ticketing platform, ensuring seamless movement across all modes of transport.

Why This MoU Matters for India

This initiative is more than an infrastructure project—it is a blueprint for the nation. By integrating EV mobility, charging networks, and digital services under one unified system, Andhra Pradesh is positioned to become:

  • A national leader in clean mobility
  • A hub for EV manufacturing and charging innovation
  • A model state for integrated electric mobility and digital transport systems

The consortium will work closely with APEDB, local municipalities, transport authorities, and industrial corridors to ensure fast-track approvals, scalable rollout, and future-proof mobility infrastructure.

A New Era for Andhra Pradesh Begins

With the ThunderPlus–ETO–Roqit consortium at the forefront, Andhra Pradesh is set to become India’s Clean Mobility Capital. This MoU marks the beginning of a transformative journey—one that will redefine how cities move, how citizens commute, and how the state leads India into an electric, sustainable future.
